Branthaven Homes Launches Two Fully Decorated Model Homes at Doon Creek

Branthaven Homes recently unveiled two model homes at the company’s Doon Creek community. Both homes are fully decorated by the internationally renowned interior design firm, Norma King Design Inc. Branthaven’s Starflower and Swan models are very popular single-family homes that are available at both Doon Creek in Kitchener and Branthaven’s Nestings community in nearby River Ridge.

Branthaven’s plans easily demonstrate the benefits of their “good bones,” their light-filled and open-concept layouts. King Design’s signature fresh style and subtle sophistication are perfectly matched.

The result: two refreshingly natural interiors that are a new-home oasis. The Starflower C plan has been a huge hit for Branthaven Homes in Oakville and now is in high demand at Doon Creek. At 3,375 sq. ft., The Starflower has a beautiful French Country exterior and now, a model with lots of French flair on the inside. The King’s selected a palette of simple white walls, warm wood floors, creamy Berber carpet and bleached light oak cabinets and furnishings as a backdrop for a serene, airy and sophisticated main floor. The Starflower has many formal spaces such as its double-height foyer and front parlour, as well as the soaring columned formal dining area with its built-in buffet niche and butler’s servery. The Starflower’s rear kitchen and Great Room offer a wide swath of warm light. The kitchen is a very generous layout with abundant maple cabinetry, Caesarstone countertops, chef’s island, tumbled marble tile backsplash, stainless steel appliances and, an eat-in area defined by a stunning French antique table, six chairs and oak chandelier.

The adjoining Great Room, separated by a columned half-wall has large windows overlooking the pond with plenty of space to entertain and enjoy every day. A convenient mudroom with built-in seating and storage nook, laundry and powder room are discreetly tucked into this main floor.

Upstairs, the Starflower’s four-bedroom plan unveils an equally ethereal ambience. From the curved maple staircase with plush Berber runner to the upper hall, bedrooms and bath that are fanned out for privacy. The master retreat is spacious, almost hotel suite sized, with soothing white linens on the bed, couch and ottoman. The large ensuite bath is a spa-like respite of crisp white and soothing seafoam. A second bedroom is decorated as a guest room awash in sophisticated crème. Third and fourth bedrooms are reserved for the children. A large “tween” suite enjoys a private bath and walk-in closet and has colourful accent splashes of blue, purple, pink and orange. The twin boys’ room is double the fun with red desks and chairs, bunk beds and bold accessories. spacious main bath completes this level.

The Swan, at 2,545 sq. ft., is also a desired plan in Branthaven’s portfolio of singles. The bright, open-concept plan is a perfect home for formal living and family life. The main floor boasts a generous entry with a grand statement piece of art, standard nine-ft. ceiling and dramatic view through the main floor. This foyer area unfolds to a dining room that is defined by an overhead ceiling potlighting scheme and below, a rich area carpet. Dressed for a formal dinner party – an heirloom table and chairs, chandelier, matching antique chests, silverware and floral arrangement are defined by framing symmetrical side windows and draperies. The combined living room is très chic with a formal sitting area around a crisp fireplace framed by corkscrew topiary and anchored by a graphic area rug. The King’s designed the main floors principal spaces with a very stylish mature family in mind – a family that would bring choice heirlooms and tasteful new furnishings together in a modern clean new-home environment.

The spacious kitchen is a standout – a palette of dark espresso wood meets crisp white Caeasarstone countertops and gloss subway tile backsplash with shimmering contemporary hardware. The breakfast bar and eat-in kitchen are stylish in white lacquer furnishings yet very family friendly. Large windows and a patio door to the rear yard make this space sun drenched, warm and inviting.

The lower level may be formal but upstairs, a terrific lifestyle plan reveals itself. From the staircase landing a family room that houses the TV, wii game console, comfortable lounge seating, potted plants and even a long sofa table that does double duty as a home office or laptop station.

Four good-sized family bedrooms are available with a spacious main bath for children. Toddlers, teen, parents and guests all have their bedrooms defined by King’s signature white palette with bold strokes of colour to give each room a personality and graphic punch. The master bedroom is calm and cool with white linens, club chairs and ottoman, mirrored night tables and silver patina photos and fresh green accents.

The master suite enjoys a spacious spa-ambience with soaker tub, rain shower, milky granite countertop and matching his and her built-in cabinetry. Green and silver continue the master suites esthetic.
